PlanningMatters

PlanningMatters brings together planning experts from public urban planning agencies, the planning departments of European cities and urban networks active in Europe. Its aims are to join forces for better exchange and capacity-building, and for better representation of urban planning at European level.

    European platform

European platform for urban planning agencies in Europe

Faced with crises and challenges, urban planners have to adapt, rethink concepts and amend models. As cities continue to grow and environmental issues become ever more important, urban planning agencies play a major role.

Perspective has seized the opportunity offered by the Belgian Presidency of the European Union in 2024 to strengthen contacts between European urban planning agencies and create a dynamic exchange of ideas on their professions and their role in meeting global challenges. With this aim a new European platform is launched: PlanningMatters.

PlanningMatters allows to exchange knowledge, share expertise, build capacity and engage with the European institutions on the role and place of urban planning in European urban policies and initiatives.

All interested planning agencies, urban development departments of cities and urban networks are welcome to join us!
